Listed here are several first aid tips that will help should you need assistance after hours:
Soreness From Braces:It is completely normal to experience soreness from new braces or after an adjustment appointment.  The feeling will go away within a few days.  Meanwhile. take a pain reliever such as Advil or Tylenol to relieve discomfort. Eating soft foods like soup, macaroni and cheese or fruit smoothies are recommended.

Loose Brackets If the bracket or band is still attached to the wire, leave it in place. If they come off completely, put them in a plastic bag. Call to make an appointment and bring the brackets or bands with you at that time.

Loose Tie Wire Call the office and ask if an appointment is necessary. Notify the assistant when you come into the office.

Wire out of Tube Place the wire back into the tube with a pair of tweezers. Place wax over the wire if it becomes uncomfortable and call for an appointment.

Poking Tie Wire With the eraser of a pencil, q-tip or the back of a spoon, bend the wire back into place. Call the office for an appointment and if it continues to bother you, dry the area with cotton and cover the poking wire with wax.

Accident involving the teeth Call your dentist or orthodontist immediately.
